Paper Cranes for Grant

Last Tuesday, I saw a couple of students with Sir Joem making paper cranes for Grant  at Prom A.

I went to his wake last Wednesday night, so everything just started sinking in after. Grief is not something new to me, but that doesn't make me immune to it either. I don't really consider Grant to be one of my close friends in school, but he was a dear friend. Indeed I grieve along with the rest of his loved ones.

Grant in my Fine Arts class. I know I could've gotten a more recent photo, but I just prefer using this one, since this is how he looked like when I first met him.
I met Grant back when I was in 2nd year college in our 7:30am Fine Arts class with Dr. Ramirez. Must admit, I did have a little crush on him back then, haha. He always had good insights in class, and he would talk to anyone. And even though he was so caught up between Pol Eco and Viare, he still took the time to ask how people were doing.

I remember sometimes calling him "Grant Hill" when I felt like Grant was too short, haha.

I remember when he finally had his long hair cut, some people said that he went from looking like Jesus to Daniel san from Karate Kid, haha.

I remember when Isha told him that I won a medal for an Interpretative Reading Contest, he wouldn't stop teasing me about it, haha.

I remember looking for him when he took a break from school. Isha and I even talked about how it feels empty not seeing Grant everyday.

I remember him being one of the critics in Viare Goes Wild, and him encouraging me to continue acting. And once again, he saw this as another opportunity to tease me, haha.

That was basically the dynamics of our friendship. It was built on teasing and a few minute conversations. But I'm glad that one way or another I got to meet to him. I will definitely remember Grant Delfin.

Prayers to the Delfin family.
