Houston, we have a problem

"Houston, we have a problem"

They just showed Apollo 13 on HBO a while ago. I realized that I haven't really seen the whole movie, so I decided to just watch it... I didn't think that that movie could be so... beautiful *sniff*. I got all teary eyed when their space shuttle launched, and got all teary eyed again when they got back to earth. I saw my brother laughing at me.

When I was a little girl, I wanted to be an astronaut, I even wrote it down on my kindergarten yearbook. So my heart broke when I heard that NASA was closing down their space program. I just thought that... You know... One day maybe I could be...or maybe just even witness a launch live...  Anyway, let's not dwell on that right now. Maybe another time when I'm more in the mood. Right now, we're here to look into some Astronaut artworks.

Man-in-the-Moon-Monet by Allan Bean

Alan Bean seems to capture the lyrical drama within the Apollo and NASA narrative of a dysfunctional group of astronauts and the absurdity of ”conquest” of the moon. Radioactive painting from  the NASA art circuit. Of the twelve men to walk on the moon, astronaut Alan Bean is the celestial apostle of art.

Homeless Astronaut by Don John

This is a 3 layer stencil I just did here in Aarhus. His sign says "Will walk the moon for spare change" so be sure to drop him some change if you pass him. -Don John

That's all I have for now. Welcome to the "ber" monthssss.
